Shackles Letter of Marque

I created this Letter of Marque for my 'Skull and Shackles" campaign. The characters receive it as they are recognized as Free Captains of the Shackles.

The letter comes in a protective leather case, bound with straps of leather decorated with golden skulls:

The leather case was quite easy to make out of an DIN A3 sized piece of leather and some leather straps, both bought on eBay. The skulls are made of plastic; we use them as Bennies in our campaign, and I converted two of them to decoration for the letter by painting them with Vallejo US Field Drab, followed by Vallejo Gold, followed by a wash of Vallejo Sepia Shade, and finished with a coat of Vallejo Gloss Varnish.

When the leather case is opened, one finds the folded up letter with a red stamp of the symbol of the Shackles:

For the letter I used 180 grams paper; to make the paper look more authentic, I tore off the edges of the page along a metal ruler. I did not use any aging techniques on the paper, as this letter is brand new in-game, and had no opportunity to age.

When the letter is opened, one sees the legal text of the Letter of Marque, followed by 'the hand and seal' of the current ruler of the Shackles, Hurricane King Kerdak Bonefist:

I designed the text in Open Office using fitting fonts and printed it with my Epson inkjet printer. The text itself was inspired by this post on the paizo forums. The 'hand' of Kerdak Bonefist was written with a calligraphy pen. For the 'seal', I used a 3d printed seal stamp and sealing wax.
